Counseling at Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School
Our counseling department's mission is to provide a comprehensive counseling program that supports the academic, personal, and faith development of all students.
Counselors at JPII accompany students through academic, personal, and faith challenges, supporting each student's journey toward academic independence, emotional resilience, and a growing capacity to see themselves and others with compassion and grace as they prepare for their next chapter. Our department fosters a culture that is deeply relational and grace-filled, one that forms students in the truth of their God-given dignity, guides them in discerning their vocation and purpose, and equips them to pursue their collegiate aspirations with wisdom and confidence, so that they graduate not only prepared for what is next, but more fully themselves and more deeply anchored in Christ.

We are proud to maintain a counselor-to-student ratio of 1:150 in high school and 1:240 in middle school—well below the national average and the recommendations set by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). This allows our counselors to build strong relationships with students and provide meaningful, individualized support across the three core domains of school counseling.
