Developing life-long learners and servant-leaders of tomorrow

Our high school program engages students in a challenging college preparatory curriculum with opportunities for Advanced Placement (AP) courses and extensive research in the humanities and science. Students learn how their knowledge is applied by developing empathy, designing solutions, and interacting with members of the community.

Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School offers a high school program that challenges students to look for more.

Beyond just challenging students academically, our programs require students to see themselves and their learning in the context of their greater community. Technology is used for the development of creative products, not just a replacement of pencil and paper.

Academic Advantages at JPII

Cutting-edge Teaching

Content experts use teaching strategies such as project-based learning and design thinking that help students develop empathy and connect theories and concepts with practical applications to make a positive impact on their community.

Research-based Courses

Research is embedded into science classes, preparing students to develop as scientists and prepare them for future careers in the field.

Advanced Communication Skills

The English curriculum includes reading and discussing new and classic literature. As students advance through English courses, they develop advanced written and verbal communication skills, which prepare them for next-level classes, life experiences, and future careers.

Student Support

Additional time in the daily schedule for tutorials so students have additional teacher support and the opportunity to create lasting relationships.

Career Explorations

Through Innovation and Entrepreneurship classes, students build skills in business and technical areas while exploring future careers.

Catholic Worldview

Faith is central to our curriculum and is applied throughout all disciplines by integrating Catholic worldview goals into lessons.

Historical Thinking

Students learn how to think historically in social studies classes. This teaches them how to describe, analyze, evaluate, and express ideas, developing their writing skills.

World Language Immersion

World Language classes provide students with the opportunity to engage in 90% immersion so that they develop an understanding of the language's structure and attain fluency in it.

Math Application

Students develop mathematical skills through conceptual understanding. We provide students with a clear understanding of the reasons why mathematical operations work, which helps them apply math to real-world situations.

Faith Formation

Students have opportunities to deepen their faith in many ways at JPII. From academic classes to athletic fields, each part of our program points to the search for Truth. Spending time in the chapel, going on faith retreats with classmates, and praying as a community allow students to keep their focus on faith throughout the school day and beyond.

We view students as full members of the learning community rather than receivers of information.

  • Students have an assigned Advisor who monitors their progress and helps them advocate for their needs.
  • Students have access to Counselors who can help them with organization or other factors that may impact their education, including social-emotional needs and specific classroom needs.
  • We offer support for students with diagnosed learning differences.
