Meeting unique developmental needs during the middle years

As students transition from elementary to high school, they find a safe and supportive environment in the middle school program at Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School. While providing appropriate academic challenges, our program allows for early and significant exploration of fine arts, technology, entrepreneurship, world language, service learning, and athletics.

Students in middle school benefit from expert-informed preparation, resources, and support.

The JPII middle school program utilizes resources from our well-established high school programs to create an unmatched middle school experience for students as they learn, explore, and prepare for high school and beyond.

Academic Advantages in Grades 6-8 at JPII

Academic Aptitude

Students build skills that lead to success in high school. Many classes are taught by high school content experts who also understand the developmental needs of middle school students.

Language & Culture

Beginning in 7th grade, students are immersed in the world language program, opening doors to other cultures and developing an understanding and appreciation of people from other countries.

Access to Higher Levels

In areas such as Mathematics Exploration, students develop advanced math skills, which, if they are proven ready, can lead them to take high school classes while in middle school.

Healthy Lifestyle

Physical education and athletic teams integrate activities and curriculum that promote a lifelong desire to stay active and healthy.

Art Appreciation

Fine Arts classes challenge students to explore their world by observing the beauty around them daily. Students may engage in the arts at their level of skills and interest and participate in high school opportunities when appropriate.

Faith Formation

Theology courses challenge students to understand their faith and develop a relationship with Christ in ways that are lived out daily. All disciplines integrate our Catholic worldview goals.
