Strengthening Through Athletics

Intertwining physical development with spiritual growth through sports.

Beyond The Game

Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School's athletic program is an important facet of holistic education, providing a unique environment where physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth are interwoven. Our athletic program prepares young athletes to face challenges with strength, grace, and a steadfast spirit, shaping the leaders of tomorrow rooted in faith and committed to excellence.

Developing Student Athletes

We seek to develop our student-athletes to be examples of our faith through fair play, sportsmanship, an intense competitive spirit, and the pursuit of excellence in all endeavors. We believe all of our abilities are blessings bestowed upon us, and we strive to use those blessings to glorify God both on and off the field.

Building Virtues

Personal integrity and responsibility, discipline, teamwork, and self-sacrifice are lessons that can be powerfully taught through team sports participation. Student-athletes who learn these lessons and seek to live them out on the field, in our hallways, and in our community will become men and women of strong character who will reach their greatest potential.

Relying On God's Guidance

At all times, all members of the JPII Athletic community must conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School. We rely on God’s support and guidance to meet these expectations in and out of school, in and out of athletic settings.

Training Athletes, Developing Leaders

To inspire student-athletes to become the best versions of themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. The JPII Athletic program encourages students to grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. Emphasizing integrity, hard work, and service to others, JPII coaches develop athletes to be leaders on and off the field and courts.

We believe that participation in the JPII athletic program encourages more than competition at a high level; it presents an opportunity to cultivate personal growth, sportsmanship, discipline, and accountability. We promote opportunities for students to engage in multiple sports and roles, helping them discover and develop a variety of talents that glorify God. We strive to cultivate a spirit of competitive greatness, which prepares our students to face tough challenges together, united as teammates and grounded in faith.

The JPII Athletic program creates lasting traditions, inspires unity, and instills a sense of belonging and pride in the students, alumni, families, and wider community who are part of Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School.
