A Night to Remember: Recalling the JPII Journey

On Thursday evening of homecoming week, the community gathered for A Night to Remember, hosted by the Advancement Office under the leadership of Director of Advancement Michelle Barber. The program featured a panel of former heads of school—Hans Broekman, Faustin Weber, and Karen Phillips—alongside former Board of Trustees President Russell Marino and current President Dr. Erick Chittle.

JPII's Cavin and Pearson Sign to Play at the Collegiate Level

On Wednesday, November 18, Coach Wade and the JPII community celebrated as Osby Cavin and Trey Pearson signed to continue their outstanding basketball careers at the collegiate level. Osby Cavin committed to the University of Montevallo, while Trey Pearson will continue at High Point University.

Faith and Reason: The Heart of Catholic STEM Education

Saint John Paul II wrote in Fides et Ratio that "faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth." At Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School, this principle isn't just a motto; it's woven into the fabric of how we teach, particularly in our STEM and science programs.

Guiding Students with Purpose: A Spotlight on the Newest Members of JPII’s Counseling Team

Guided by the mission to support each student’s journey toward academic independence, emotional resilience, and empathy for themselves and others, the counseling team is entering this year with renewed vision and energy with the addition of Director of Counseling Mrs. Bobbie Caine and Middle School Counselor Ms. Claire Wehby to the team that includes returning High School Counselors Ms. Kelly Hogan and Mrs. Lien Linero.

Walking With One Another: a Living Lesson in Love and Solidarity

thirty-six students and seven faculty members stepped beyond the walls of JPII and into the vibrant heart of Nashville’s Hispanic community. Their destination, Plaza Mariachi and Conexión Américas, served as the setting of the inaugural Imago Dei/Spanish Club field trip, a culminating celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and the beginning of a new initiative inviting students to encounter the “image of God” in their neighbors.

JPII Juniors Explore the Future of Medicine at the University of Toronto

Last summer, Teagan Boyle, Sydney Glasco, Kate Joseph, Ansley Kirby, Marin Morris, Kathryn Swan, and Maddie Tabor participated in the Youth Summer Program (YSP) Medical Program at the University of Toronto, an immersive, week-long experience designed for high school students eager to explore the world of medicine.

Four JPII Scholar-Athletes Sign to Play at the Collegiate Level

Four scholar-athletes from Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School class of 2025 recently committed to continue their sports at the collegiate level, bringing the total signed athletes in the JPII class of 2025 to fifteen. On May 6, 2025, the JPII high school community, parents, and guests gathered for an athletic signing ceremony to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of the six athletes as their coaches detailed how each scholar-athlete lived out the JPII mission.
